Representatives of the J.D. Irving group of companies are visiting universities and colleges across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Quebec in February, looking for potential new hires for its co-op and summer internship programs. J.D. Irving has business units in consumer products, forestry, forest products and paper, shipbuilding and transportation.
“So far we are quite impressed with the talent that we have been talking to,” said Kristen Drapeau, manager of student recruitment for J.D. Irving, Limited. “Some of the students have already been very proactive and applied for some of our co-op opportunities, our summer internships, and some of our summer jobs. It is nice to finally put a face to a name when we come to these events.”
In 2014, JDI hired 2,938 people across all divisions. The company is forecasting more than 7800 hires between 2015 and 2017 for all divisions.
