Two of the three paper machines at Kruger Products’ Laurier mill in Gatineau, Que., have resumed operations following a fire on Saturday, Jan. 9.

The third machine is expected to re-start on Jan. 13.

The Citizen says there were no injuries.

Kruger’s web site notes that the Laurier and Richelieu mills in the Outaouais region make up the Gatineau Manufacturing Site. This site manufactures a wide range of tissue products both for consumer and away-from-home markets. The Laurier mill has three paper machines as well as a warehouse, with paper manufacturing capacity of 253 tonnes per day.
