Forest Biorefinery Summit calls for submissions

The Forest Biorefinery Summit is accepting submissions for oral and poster presentations. This international gathering attracts key players from the forest, bioeconomy and chemical sectors , as well as representatives from governments, academia and research institutes.

The Forest Biorefinery Summit is held in conjunction with PaperWeek Canada, a conference and trade show hosted by PAPTAC. It will take place during the week of February 2-5, 2015, at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal.

Organized by an international committee, the summit will feature:
- Oral presentations by industry experts;
- A panel on market access for forest-based bioproducts and biomaterials;
- Keynote presentations;
- A poster session as part of a networking event.

Abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations will be accepted until September 29, 2014. Topics of interest for submission include: biorefinery resources and supply chain; biorefining technologies; bioproducts and biomaterials; market perspectives; sustainability of the forest biorefinery; building links between the forest and the chemical industry. 

The organizing committee for the Summit consists of Mariya Marinova (Polytechnique Montréal), Peter Axegård (Innventia - Sweden), Marzouk Benali (Natural Resources Canada), Lyle Biglow (Tembec), Tom Browne (FPInnovations), Jamal Chaouki (Polytechnique Montreal),
Adriaan van Heiningen (University of Maine - USA).
