Lawsuit against Catalyst Paper discontinued

October 14, 2016  By Cindy Macdonald

Sunvault Energy Inc. and Aboriginal Power Corp. have discontinued the lawsuit previously commenced against Catalyst Paper. The lawsuit pertained to an alleged breach of confidentiality.

This discontinuance filed by Sunvault Energy and Aboriginal Power brings this litigation to an end. Another party to the lawsuit, the Halalt First Nation, had previously filed a discontinuance.

“We are pleased that this litigation against Catalyst is now at an end,” said Joe Nemeth, president and CEO.

A statement from Catalyst Paper notes that the discontinuances filed by the plaintiffs in this lawsuit does not preclude them from re-instituting litigation against Catalyst in the future.

Catalyst Paper manufactures diverse papers and market pulp at five mills across North America.
