Paul Whittaker will take over as president and CEO of the Alberta Forest Products Association on June 2.
Whittaker brings to the association an extensive background in issues management, strategic planning and policy development. Whittaker had a 31-year career with the Government of Alberta, most recently as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and president of the Alberta Housing Corporation.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to serve Alberta’s forest industry as president and CEO of the AFPA,” said Whittaker. “The forest sector has long been a pillar of the Alberta economy and is now entering a critical phase of growth and transformation.”

The AFPA has been the voice of Alberta’s forest industry for more than 70 years. It is a private, non-profit industry organization.
