Domtar Corp. of Montreal has announced a US$20/tonne increase for North America for its bleached softwood kraft pulp (BSKP) grades, according to buyer information. This would put Domtar’s prices at $1,030/tonne for northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) and $990/tonne for southern bleached softwood kraft (SBSK).

Domtar is the first known pulp producer to announce a March 1 price increase for North America. In February, some BSKP producers announced $10/tonne March 1 price hikes for China.
