A rejected appeal has left forestry company Kruger content and the Betsiamites Innu blistering.
The Quebec Court of Appeal dismissed a request by the Innu that sought to prevent Kruger from harvesting burnt timber on Rene-Levasseur island. Kruger has pushed for the need to harvest the damaged wood quickly, so as to make use of the material before it becomes rotten or infested with insects.

The Innu have confirmed their intent to return to court in an attempt to put a halt to all logging activities on the island.
