In what is shaping up to be an extremely difficult week for Quebec, Abitibi-Consolidated has announced the closure of four sawmills. A total of 380 direct and 300 forestry operations jobs will be lost through the shutdowns.
The closures are expected to come into effect on Monday, October 16, and will be for an indefinite period of time.
