The CBC has reported that Abitibi-Consolidated has elected to postpone a controversial test at its mill in Stephenville. A three-day experiment to determine whether or not tires could effectively be burned to create energy for papermaking was supposed to start on Monday, March 14th. However, in response to public complaints, the company decided to postpone the testing, and has yet to decide when it might carry out the experiment.
