An accident-free decade came to an end this month for Tolko’s Merritt, BC mill.
On September 13, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a male employee had an accident, the details of which have not been released.

According to the Merritt Herald, Tolko spokesperson Sheila Catlin confirmed the victim is in stable condition.
The RCMP and the Workers’ Compensation Board are investigating the cause of the accident. Tolko will additionally conduct its own investigation.
“We take safety very seriously at Tolko,” the Herald reported Catlin as saying. “We want to express our sympathy for the friends and family of this worker and say our thoughts are with him and his family.”
