Atlanta, GA — As costs for goods and services rise across the board, IMERYS Pigments for Paper North America has announced a price increase of its own. Effective immediately, the company’s calcium carbonate prices will jump by 10% for its pigment for paper products.

IMERYS cited escalating chemical, fuel, power and mining costs as necessitating the price hike.

At the same time, this division is restructuring its Middle Georgia Kaolin operations in Sandersville, GA. Cuts to both operations and support will see roughly 50 positions eliminated -both IMERYS employees, as well as contractors.

The company cited a saturated graphic papers market, compounded by a constricting economy as changing the face of the pulp and paper industry, resulting in reduced demand for kaolin in the sector.
