Tree Canada Foundation has established B.C. Fire Releaf, a fund to help replace trees destroyed by the devastating wildfires in British Columbia.
At its peek, the 2003 wildfire forced 30,000 people to evacuate.
Tree Canada helped communities in Saguenay, QC, during the 1996 floods; Eastern ON, QC and NB after the Ice Storms in 1998, and SK communities whose urban tree losses to Dutch Elm Disease warranted the planting of other species from year 2000 to the present.
