A round of temporary layoffs at its Gatineau newsprint mill are a sign of things to come, Bowater warns.

According to a recent report by the Ottawa Business Journal, the company temporarily laid off 37 employees at the facility, under the pretense that they would return to work on April 6. Now Bowater has said the layoff is being extended for an indefinite period of time, and according to the Ottawa Business Journal, that even more people would likely lose their jobs.
