THUNDER BAY, ON — The Midwest Branch of Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada (PAPTAC) has issued a call for papers for its 55th Annual Meeting at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay, ON, on September 26 to 28, 2001. Session topics will include technical innovation, value-added product development and marketplace trends. The conference especially invites innovative papers related to such topics as pulping, bleaching, sustainable development and energy efficiency. In the 2000 conference and trade show, more than 350 mill people and 55 exhibitors attended. In 2001, the two-day meeting will include 21/2-days of sessions, a president’s panel and a session on general business management. It will conclude with the annual golf tournament and awards for the best paper and best exhibitor’s booth. Authors should submit an abstract either by mail to Dr. Jared Fein, Dillon Consulting Ltd., 1425 Bishop St., Cambridge, ON, N1R 6J9, Canada, or by E-mail as an MS-Word 97 attachment to jfein@dillon.ca, before April 20, 2001. Note that all papers and presentations must be non-commercial in nature.
