Canfor Pulp extends production curtailment at Taylor Pulp

March 30, 2022  By P&PC Staff

Canfor Pulp Products announced a minimum of six-week extension of its production curtailment at Taylor Pulp mill in British Columbia.

The ongoing transportation shortages have resulted in continued high finished product inventories at the pulp mill. Consequently, Canfor Pulp had to curtail BCTMP production at Taylor Pulp.

“Unfortunately, the ongoing rail transportation situation has not improved, and we have no choice but to extend the current production curtailment,” said Kevin Anderson, vice-president of operations at Canfor Pulp. “We are very disappointed in the ongoing impact this is having on our employees, their families and the community.”

With this recent extension of the curtailment, the production of BCTMP will be reduced by at least 25,000 tonnes.
