Canfor has signed an agreement to buy all the outstanding shares of New South Companies. For $205 million US, Canfor now owns New South’s three sawmills, two treating plants, a finger joint plant and a European lumber import business. All of the facilities are stationed in North and South Carolina.

New South boasts an annual capacity of 425 million board feet, and its main product lines are southern yellow pine.
