More than four years later, Canfor has settled a legal action suit it launched in 2004 against the Hospital Employee Union in Prince George, BC.

The company accepted payment of $500,000 from the union in order to settle the legal claim it filed to recoup damages for lost production and labour costs that resulted from picketing of its operations at the Northwood pulp mill near Prince George on April 30, 2004.

“This settlement concludes a successful negotiation with the HEU,” vice president of human resources Rob Stewart said.
