Kingsey Falls, Que. -Cascades Inc. has announced an investment of $5 million at its Norampac plant in Kingsey Falls Que., to streamline the manufacturing of linerboard made from 100% recycled fibre. The current project consists of expanding the building to replace the winder as well as to create additional space for future investments.

Since its inception in 1964, the plant, formerly called “Division Papier” (Paper Division), has invested $55 million in order to increase its annual production capacity to 90,000 tonnes. At the end of this current project, production capacity at the plant will be greater than 125,000 tonnes per year. Subsequent phases of the upgrade are planned for 2010 and 2011.
