Cascades completes sale of its North American boxboard operations

The sale of Cascades Inc.’s North American boxboard manufacturing and converting assets to Graphic Packaging Holding Company, previously announced in December, was completed on Feb. 4, 2015.

The sale of Cascades Inc.’s North American boxboard manufacturing and converting assets to Graphic Packaging Holding Company, previously announced in December, was completed on Feb. 4, 2015.

Included in the C$44.9-million transaction are the Cascades boxboard units in East Angus and Jonquière, Que.; Winnipeg; and Mississauga and Cobourg, Ont. This transaction supports Cascades’ intention to refocus its activities on certain strategic sectors. It does not affect the company’s European-based boxboard operations.

Cascades continues to operate in the materials recovery, packaging and tissue paper sectors.
