Dennis McNinch, Director of Product Development and Marketing, Domtar Inc., Montreal, has been elected as Chairman of PAPTAC for 2001.

Upon graduation from Queen’s University in 1970 with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Dennis joined Domtar Fine Papers in Cornwall, ON as a Process Engineer, and has since served in several senior management positions at Domtar’s locations in Red Rock, St Catharines and Montreal. Dennis and wife Linda currently reside in Montreal.

In 1971, Mr. McNinch joined PAPTAC, and soon became involved in the Process Control Committee. In 1973, he co-authored a Process Control Survey report and worked on organizing a Process Control Seminar. In the 1970s, when his position at Domtar changed into operations, he spent some years on the Coating Committee and, after relocation to Domtar’s Red Rock operation in 1979, he became active on the Newsprint Committee. Over the years, Mr. McNinch has been active in Branch activities, first with the Midwest Branch and then the Niagara Branch. Mr. McNinch has served on the Executive Council from 1998 through 2000.
