Negotiations between AbitibiBowater and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada have temporarily adjourned, and will resume March 1. CEP reports that the adjournment followed five days of union deliberations over discussions with governments and the company concerning the company’s insolvent pension plan.
CEP president Dave Coles says the break will give the union more time to secure commitments from the federal government to help retirees.
