In mid-January, a $10-million fire destroyed the chip-feed and processing system at P. G Pulp and Paper in Prince George, BC. But that fire didn’t cause much disruption; a month later Canfor Pulp announced that P. G. Pulp is up and running, sort of, thanks to the installation of a temporary chip-feed facility.
Although the bugs are still being ironed out, Canfor Pulp president Paul Richardson says the company is “focused” on getting production up to maximum as quickly as possible. Canfor also plans to have a permanent feed system up and running by Q4/08.
