World chemical market pulp producer inventories increased by 164,000 tonnes in July compared to the previous month.
At current shipping rates, it is estimated that producers held 38 days of supply at the end of July — two more than last month.
Pulp producers operated at 96% of capacity — three-percentage points less than July 2002.
Market shipments were up 2.1% year-over-year, and were 1.7% higher on a year-to-date basis.
