A study conducted by Research and Markets has concluded that China’s demand for, and production of pulp and paper chemicals will continue to grow over the next five years. The research found that demand will increase by 7.5% annually to reach 8,163,400 metric tonnes in the year 2010. The study also included that China will continue to be a large exporter of pulp and paper chemicals due to skyrocketing demand and insufficient supply of top grade products by the domestic market. The study concluded that imports will grow by 8.9% per annum to reach 492,700 metric tonnes by the end of 2005, while exports will reach 564,700 metric tonnes by the end of the year.
