WHISTLER, BC — The International Chemical Recovery Conference, which is scheduled to take place between June 11 and 15, 2001, has issued a call for papers. The theme of the triennial conference is “Changing recovery technology to meet the challenges of the pulp and paper industry.” Four areas will be highlighted: performance and capital optimization, environmental compliance, capital effectiveness, and new technology solutions. Accordingly, authors are invited to submit two-page abstracts on topics related to black liquor, recovery boilers, evaporators, recausticizing and liquor cycles. The deadline for abstracts is October 1, 2000, and for the final manuscript, March 1, 2001.
