Hotmail how has quite good spam filtering that you can easily configure yourself. When you have the main Hotmail window active, click on “Options” then “Junk mail filter”. You will presented with several levels of filtering to choose from. I use the “high” option, and find that I receive about 1-3 junk e-mails per week, while Hotmail dumps about 100/week in the Junk Mail folder. I just let them rot there, and Microsoft periodically deletes them. They do use some of the allowable 2 Mb free storage space, so if there are a few hundred junk mails, it is a good idea to open the folder and clear them all out.
