A new series on Discovery Channel follows a group of B.C. loggers on the job, performing heli-logging in northern British Columbia. The series premieres on Friday, March 13, at 8 p.m. Eastern/10 p.m. Pacific.

Heli-Loggers documents the men of South Coast Standing Stem, a logging company that specializes in heli-logging, or “standing stem harvesting.” This method of harvesting pulls a topped and trimmed tree up and out of the forest by helicopter, with little or no damage to the surrounding forest. The loggers have the daunting task of scaling the mammoth trees, trimming off the tops, and preparing them for lift-off.
