Domtar Inc. announced its acceptance by the United States Bureau of Customs and Border Protection as a certified member of the Customs and Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

The purpose of this program is to ensure the security of the Canada-United States border while at the same time ensuring the continued flow of international trade.

A primary objective of the C-TPAT program is to protect and secure manufacturing facilities from outside threats. Companies and facilities accepted into the program must adhere to rigorous requirements and extensive documentation of both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products to ensure that finished products remain safe and secure. Shipments from an approved C-TPAT facility can be expedited when crossing the border into the United States.
