Domtar curtails production at four mills

Domtar Inc. will curtail production at four of its mills during the month of July.

Domtar Inc. will curtail production at four of its mills during the month of July.
The mills affected are Cornwall, Port Edwards, Port Huron and Woodland.
During this downtime, 15,000 tons of paper and 7,000 tons of market pulp will not be produced in order to avoid inventory build-up.
Prior to this announcement, Domtar curtailed its production of paper by 18,600 tons during the first quarter and 18,400 tons during the second quarter. Domtar also curtailed its production of market pulp by 21,600 tons during the first quarter. With today’s announcement as well as downtime taken during the first and second quarters, Domtar will have scaled back its production by 52,000 tons of paper and by 28,600 tons of pulp since the beginning of the year.
