An industrial vehicle roll-over on Jan. 27 at Catalyst Paper’s Crofton mill has resulted in the death of an employee.

Catalyst reports that the coroner, RCMP and WorkSafeBC have been contacted and an investigation of the fatal incident is underway.

“We are saddened by this tragic incident,” says Joe Nemeth, president and CEO. “We are doing everything possible to support the investigation.”

Nemeth extended sympathies to the family of the deceased.
The Crofton mill produces newsprint and NBSK pulp, and has about 570 employees.

WorkSafeBC will lead the investigation, supported by mill personnel.
