OTTAWA, ON — Spruce Falls Inc., Kapuskasing, ON, and Stora Enso Port Hawkesbury Ltd., Port Hawkesbury, NS, were recently honored at an awards ceremony for their achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, or GHGs. The forestry companies cited were among 34 award-winners in such sectors as forestry, manufacturing and mining. Ralph Goodale, minister of natural resources, and David Anderson, minister of environment, participated in the event. The ceremony’s host was Canada’s Climate Change Voluntary Challenge and Registry Inc., or VCR Inc., a private-public partnership of industry and government.
