TimberWest Forest Corp., Vancouver, BC, has appointed PAUL McELLIGOTT as its president and chief executive officer, replacing SCOTT FALK. The new chief, who comes from BC Rail Group of Companies and has sat on TimberWest’s board of directors since 1997, is expected to take on his new position in late January.

The Noranda Land Reclamation Award for 2000 was recently given to TERRY MACYK, a senior researcher with Alberta Research Council’s climate change technologies division. His work over the past 30 years has focused on land reclamation and solid waste management.

RICHARD CREBBIN heads off to Liverpool, NS, as mill services manager for Bowater’s Mersey mill.

Abitibi-Consolidated’s Grand Falls, NF, division has made some staffing changes: CARL ROBBINS has been named project engineer; and MARVIN BARNES as technical/ maintenance engineer.

DR. STEVE I’ANSON of the Paper Science Department of UMIST in Manchester, England, has been elected chairman of Pulp & Paper Fundamental Research Committee (FRC). He succeeds PETER HERDMAN, who served as chairman for 11 years.

GRAHAM K. MOORE, strategic consultancy manager, paper and board for Pira International, has been named a TAPPI Fellow. This distinction will be formally announced at TAPPI’s Annual Meeting in February 2001.

LAPP Canada Inc., Brampton, ON, has hired STAN CONSKY as a technical representative.

American Baler Company, Bellevue, OH, has hired RANDY ROHM as operations manager, and has named LON ROBINSON as director of engineering.
