West Fraser’s Eurocan Pulp & Paper division has received 72 hours strike notice from the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union. The strike notice would permit the union to withdraw services as early as Friday, May 23, 2003.
Eurocan, which produces kraft paper and linerboard at its facility located at Kitimat, British Columbia has offered the union a contract patterned from settlements that have occurred throughout the B.C. industry in this round of negotiations.
