An industrial accident at Bowater’s Thunder Bay mill on May 18th led to the tragic death of an employee. Although the name of the deceased has yet to be released, reports indicate his age to be between 40-45. The accident is currently under investigation, and as a result, the details surrounding the event cannot be released. The accident is particularly difficult for the mill, which holds safety standards in extremely high regard. The mill was the winner of Pulp & Paper Canada’s Safest Mill in Canada contest in 2003. The last fatality at the mill occurred on July 15th, 1990, when it was then known as Canadian Pacific Forest Products Inc.
