Fire extinguished at Domtar’s Kamloops mill

Domtar’s pulp mill in Kamloops, B.C. experienced a fire on the evening of Sept. 11.

According to CFJC Today, a Kamloops-based news outlet, the fire broke out shortly after 8 p.m. and caused minimal damage.

The fire was contained to one building in the chip sorting area, and fire rescue teams had to get into some of the equipment housing the chips to douse the flames.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
