Fire extinguished at Resolute’s Thunder Bay, Ont. complex

A structural fire broke out at Resolute Forest Products’ mill site in Thunder Bay, Ont. on the evening of Nov. 19.

According to a report by TBNewsWatch, local fire crews arrived shortly after 6:30 p.m. to find flames coming from the centre of a 10-storey metal structure.

Crews were able to contain the fire, which they attributed to overheating machinery, and limit damage to the building’s hydraulic control and drive systems.

No one was injured.
