Fire extinguished at Resolute’s Thunder Bay pulp and paper mill

March 18, 2019 – A fire in a paper machine was extinguished at Resolute Forest Products’ mill in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Sunday morning.

According to Tbnewswatch, which reported the incident, no injuries occurred as a result of the fire. 

The fire began in paper machine no. 5 as the result of a bearing failure and spread to the ventilation system. Fire crews were called around 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
