On September 24th, the Duchesnay Forestry and Wood Technology is celebrated its 70th anniversary.

The school first opened its doors in 1935, as the first institution of its kind in the province of Quebec to offer forestry-related studies. Over the past 70 years, the school has trained over 7,000 professionals to work in the industry and has since established itself as a provincially, nationally and internationally respected institution.

The institution has confirmed that over the next several years it will be actively pursuing the development of new programs that will ensure its continued reverence and importance to the industry.

Currently, the school is undergoing major structural changes that will see the construction of a new training centre, a sawmill as well as a wastewater treatment plant.
