Fraser Papers is taking nine days of maintenance downtime at its pulp mill in Edmundston, NB. As of June 17, the company will be making repairs to a recovery boiler, which were identified during a scheduled maintenance shutdown in May.

A shortage of pulp from Edmundston is prompting additional downtime at the company’s Madawaska, ME mill. Fraser will shut down one paper machine for seven days, and another for three days.

Overall, the company anticipates the downtime will shave roughly $6 million from its second quarter results.
