Richard Garneau, president and CEO of Resolute Forest Products, has been selected as RISI’s 2012 North American CEO of the Year. RISI, an information provider for the forest products industry, gives the award to honor industry leaders who have made significant achievements over the past year. The award will be presented at RISI’s 27th North American Forest Products Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on October 3 – 5, 2012.

Garneau was chosen for his leadership, vision, and strategic accomplishments in a survey of investment analysts and portfolio managers who cover the forest products industry. “The competition was close among this year’s finalists, but Mr. Garneau undeniably stood out among his peers,” said Mark Rushton, Editor, Pulp and Paper International (PPI), a RISI publication.
