Washington, DC–Goldman Sachs has wrapped up the sale of Global Forest Products. The South African-based company was sold for $245 million to the York Timber Organization, a public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
Global Forest Products was founded by the Global Environment Fund in late 2001, in order to acquire and manage non-core forestry properties and sawmills owned by Mondi, a subsidiary of the Anglo-American conglomerate.
