Nanaimo, BC–In other Pope & Talbot news, the company recently announced plans to temporarily cut capacity at its Harmac facility, by slowing down one of its three lines. According to a report by the Nanaimo News Bulletin, the scaling back accounts for roughly 17% of the mills capacity, and will impact approximately 70 employees.

The strength of the Canadian dollar was cited as largely responsible for the decision, as has a lack of affordable timber.
