The Board of Directors of Ciba Specialty Chemicals has appointed JAMES McCUMMINSKEY head of the water & paper treatment segment and member of the executive committee. He succeeds MARK GARRETT.

The Board of Directors of Ciba Specialty Chemicals has appointed JAMES McCUMMINSKEY head of the water & paper treatment segment and member of the executive committee. He succeeds MARK GARRETT.

Weyerhaeuser has appointed SHAKER CHANDRASEKARAN senior vice president of cellulose fibres. Additionally, he has been named a member of the company’s senior management team and now serves on the operating committee. Chandrasekaran succeeds MICHAEL A. JACKSON, who retired from Weyerhaeuser to assume the position of CEO of Verso Paper in Memphis, TN.

CHARLIE SPELL has been named vice president of global sales and marketing for Neucel Specialty Cellulose. Spell previously served the company in the capacity of director of marketing and sales.

Pope & Talbot has named KEITH MATHENEY and HAROLD STANTON as directors. Matheney is a member of the board’s audit and corporate governance committee, while Stanton is a member of the compensation committee.

Sappi has announced that BARRY WIERSUM has been appointed CEO of Sappi Fine Paper Europe. He replaces WOLFGANG PFARL, who will retire next month.

BIM has named MIKAEL PERDIN managing director of the Swedish local operation, BIM Kemi Sweden AB.
