The Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, has appointed ERIC NEUMANN as research manager in the organization’s research department. Neumann will be responsible for managing various research efforts and projects, project development, on-press testing as well as marketing services.

Potlach Corporation has appointed ERIC J. CREMERS vice president, finance and chief financial officer. He assumed the role on August 1, and replaced GERALD L. ZUEHLKE, who will retire at the end of the year. Cremers will be responsible for financial reporting and controls, information technology, investor relations, risk management, tax and treasury functions.

TimberWest has named JOHN HENDRY vice president of real estate. The position was created following a strategic review of the company’s entire land base in 2006. Hendry will be located at the Vancouver office.

Weyerhaeuser’s board of directors has elected PATRICIA M. BEDIENT as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Bedient succeeds RICHARD J. TAGGART, who retired in June. In additional to her role as CFO, Bedient will additionally continue to manage the integration of all company planning processes. She will report to STEVEN R. ROGEL, chairman, president and CEO.

Buckeye Technologies has named STEVEN G. DEAN senior vice president and chief financial officer. The nomination became effective July 1. Prior to that time, Dean held the position of vice president and CFO.

Albany International announced that WILLIAM M. MCCARTHY, executive vice president, global planning engineering and procurement, will retire from the company on September 30, 2007

DONNA HARMAN has been appointed president and CEO of the American Forest and Paper Association. Concurrently, RICHARD J. JAMES now serves as AF&PA’s chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration.

Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation has hired industry veterans ANTHONY DIIENNO and SUZANNE WHITNEY to key posts in its reclamation division. DiIenno will serve as director of high grade procurement and will work out of the company’s Philadelphia, PA office, while Whitney will serve as director of national accounts, working out of Smurfit-Stone’s Torrance, CA office.
