JAMES R. KELLER, senior vice president, containerboard packaging and recycling, has retired from Weyerhaeuser, after spending 32 years with the company. He is succeeded by THOMAS F. GIDEON. NORM DENNEY has been named vice president, Canadian Forestlands.
MARY THERESA McLEOD has announced her decision to resign from Tembec’s board of directors, a position she has held since January 2003.
Norbord has appointed NEVILLE W. KIRCHMANN to its board of directors, where he will additionally serve on the audit, corporate governance and nominating, environment, health and safety and human resources committees.
RICHARD GARNEAU has taken the reigns at Catalyst Paper, replacing Russell Horner as president and CEO. Garneau’s most recent post at Domtar saw him responsible for the paper, pulp and wood sectors.
International Paper has elected LYNN LAVERTY ELSENHANS to its board of directors.
Canfor has announced the resignation of CEO JIM SHEPHERD, former president and CEO. He left the company on May 4. On the same day, Canfor held an election for eight new directors. Current directors who stood for re-election are PETER J.G. BENTLEY, RONALD L. CLIFF, MICHAEL J. KORENBERG, JAMES A. PATTISON and DONALD C. SELMAN. New nominee directors are BENJAMIN D. DUSTER IV, JOHN D. LAPEY and James F. Shepard.
UPM-Kymmene has re-elected VESA VAINIO chairman, and JORMA OLLILA and BERNDT BRUNOW as vice chairmen.
R. GORDON KNAPP is a new addition to Kimberly-Clark Corporation, assuming the role of president of the company’s North Atlantic Family Care Business.
Voith Paper Rolls has appointed DENIS PELLETIER field service manager for North America, where he will manage the field service department in the company’s eastern Canadian and northeastern United States regions.
At Voith Paper, VOLKER HAMPEL has assumed the position of CFO.
PEKKA LAAKSONEN will be leaving Stora Enso, where he holds the position of senior executive vice president, fine paper. He is additionally a member of the executive management group. Laaksonen will relinquish his duties with the company by August 15, 2007. His successor has yet to be named.
Sappi Limited has announced that KAREN R. OSAR has joined its board of directors as a non-executive director. The appointment became effective on May 1, 2007.
Buckeye Technologies has named KRISTOPHER J. MATULA director of the company. His election fills the vacancy of the board created by the passing of ROBERT E. CANNON on March 14, 2007.
