Stora Enso has appointed HANNU KASURINEN senior vice president of specialty papers. He succeeds JOHN F. BERGIN, who will retire on January 1st, 2006….

Stora Enso has appointed HANNU KASURINEN senior vice president of specialty papers. He succeeds JOHN F. BERGIN, who will retire on January 1st, 2006.

JOUNI SEPPALA will replace Kasurinen in his responsibilities for the Profit 2007 profit improvement program.

International Paper has named ANN WROBLESKI to replace Lyn Withey as vice president of public affairs.

Bowater has elected RUTH R. HARKIN to the company’s board of directors.

Louisiana-Pacific Corporation announced that it has named ANN HARRIS as vice president of Human Resources. In her new role, Harris will be responsible for all Human Resources functions and will be a member of LP’s Senior Management team.

After four years as Howe Sound’s controller, CATHY MCLAY has recently accepted a position at Canfor. Howe Sound welcomes DENNIS THOMPSON as the new corporate controller. Dennis comes from Canadian Forest Products where he was employed since 1992 and most recently held the position of controller for Alberta operations. He also worked for Northwood Pulp and Timber as district administrator, Forest Operations from 1981 until 1992.

THOMAS J. FALK, chairman & CEO of Kimberly-Clark, has been elected to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s prestigious Board of Governors. In this capacity he will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the national organization, including fiduciary oversight and accountability to the general public.

JEFF STAFFORD has been appointed division vice president and general manager of Sonoco’s protective packaging division. He replaced CHARLES W. COKER who was recently named division vice president and general manager of flexible packaging.

As of January 1st, 2006, several organizational changes will be implemented at Metso Paper. ARTO AALTONEN will assume the role of the company’s executive vice president. KARI KALLIALA will head the paper and board department. HANNU MALKIA will be responsible for the finishing department, MARCO MARCHEGGIANI will head the tissue division and JARI VAHAPESOLAA will assume responsibility for the service department. All five individuals will report directly to RISTO HAUTAMAKI, president of Metso Paper.

Graphic Packaging has elected DANIEL J. BLOUNT as the company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has served as the acting CFO since September 1st, 2005.
