International Forest Products scaled back production at its Queensboro sawmill in New Westminister, BC. The mill’s planer is expected to operate until December 16th in order to process and ship rough inventory.

The decision to pare down was taken in the hope of being able to address equipment deficiencies and to identify other issues that would improve the mill’s operation. The company has confirmed that a re-start date will be announced as soon as possible.

The Queensboro mill started up in May 2005, following a $25 million rebuild, which started in November 2004.
