Neles Automation has received a 10-million EUR (about $14 million) order from Cartiere Burgo SpA, as part of the Valmet paper machine that is scheduled to start up at the company’s mill in Versuolo, Italy, at the end of 2001. The new lightweight-coated offset paper machine will be one of the world’s largest, with a design speed of 2000 m/min, a wire width of 10 450 mm and a production output of about 400 000 tons per year.

Voith Sulzer Automation, Los Gatos, CA, has installed a Millennium Quality Control System on one of the paper machines of Papierfabrik Scheufelen, Oberlenningen, Germany. The system includes two scanning measurement systems, two CD actuators with integrated control and a paper machine information system.
