Kruger’s Corner Brook mill working together to strengthen future of NL’s forest industry
January 16, 2023 By P&PC Staff
Michel Girard, vice-president of Kruger’s Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Mill in Newfoundland and Labrador, recently attended a dedication ceremony for Newfoundland’s new Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI).
The CRI is housed in the mill’s former human resources building. The space will be offered free of charge for the next 15 years, says Kruger.
The CRI, in collaboration with Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus and the College of the North Atlantic, will provide cutting-edge training to forest industry workers in the province, including Kruger employees.
In a social media statement shared by Kruger, the company says that its Corner Brook Mill is proud to partner with the community to help make this forward-looking institution a reality.
