Kruger’s subsidiary Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited now meets the requirements for certification of its forest area of almost two million hectares, by CAN/CSA z809-2002 Canada’s national standard for sustainable forest management.
Company employees alongside community-based public advisory committee members spent nearly two years working on ideas and strategies to develop a sustainable forest management plan.
"This is a significant milestone in Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited’s history," said Patrick Tompkins, Woodlands manager. "We are very proud of our certification achievements. This demonstrates our ability to manage the forest in a sustainable way," he added.
